Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has been officially appointed as the Grand Patron of the Bodex Social Media Hangout Initiative. The recognition is a clear manifestation of the partnership between the government and the people through digital means, youth involvement, and responsible media use throughout Lagos State. Moreover, it shows that the government of Lagos State is working strategically to present the city as a model for the coming era of rival and tech-savvy governance in Africa.

The BSMH 6.0 Theme: The Digital Future Is Here

The sixth edition of the Bodex Social Media Hangout was themed “Social Media and A.I Influence: Transforming Yourself, Services, and Society” and will emphasize the goal of the platform to promote responsible media usage, increase digital literacy, and empower social media users throughout Nigeria. The participants will be having numerous opportunities for engaging and transferring discussions on how social media and AI are changing the individual’s growth, delivery of service, and the whole society. Through this line of action, BSMH hopes to motivate the tech-savvy and the non-tech-savvy alike to be critically thinking and compassionate about the use of technology and the impact it has on everyday life.

Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Digital Growth Commitment

By accepting the award, Governor Sanwo-Olu not only acknowledged but also reinforced the government’s commitment to digital development for the whole state and more responsible media use to up the palm in such matters.

He pointed out that the metropolitan area continues being a place of innovation and creativity where the ever-growing ecosystem fosters the birth of ideas, the giving out of opinions, and the claims of rights to be heard in the digital world. The Governor went on to say that institutions and organizations that promote knowledge sharing, interesting debates, and citizen participation using technology will constantly receive his support.

One of the highlights of the visit was the official invitation to Governor Sanwo-Olu to be the Keynote Speaker at BSMH 6.0 during the Grand Finale and Grand Patron Award Ceremony. The Governor will also get the award for being the “Most Digital Media Friendly Governor of the Year,” which is a token of appreciation for his creative leadership and commitment to employing technology for citizen engagement and transparency in governance. This award further confirms his crucial position in the digital arena of Lagos State.
