Cohen & Steers Unveils New CMO to Power Global Growth and Strengthen Its Brand

Cohen & Steers Strengthens Leadership Team
The investment management firm has named Erik Schneberger as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. This is yet another addition to the firm’s executive leadership as it further grows its global operations. As an executive based out of New York, Schneberger will be responsible for running the firm’s global marketing organization and all of its marketing activities through various distribution channels. He will directly report to Daniel Noonan, who holds the post of Executive Vice President and Head of Global Distribution.
This move comes from the firm’s effort to strengthen its global brand and grow within real assets and alternative income investments space.
Experienced Marketing Executive Joins the Firm
Schneberger has more than two decades of experience in investment management marketing. Prior to joining Cohen & Steers, Schneberger was the Chief Marketing Officer at American Century Investments. Previously in his career, Schneberger occupied senior marketing leadership roles at OppenheimerFunds, Neuberger Berman, and Morgan Stanley.
Schneberger’s career experience helped him build strong competencies in areas such as brand strategy, digital marketing, client engagement, marketing operations, and servicing institutional, intermediary, and wealth management clients. It is believed that his rich experience will enable Cohen & Steers to enhance its marketing capabilities globally.
Leadership Highlights the Firm's Growth Plans
"Over 40 years we have been creating unique skills in real assets investments through innovation and our proprietary investment insights," stated the Chief Executive Officer of the company Joseph Harvey, adding that positive market conditions for real assets have created good momentum for the next growth stage of the company.
"As per Mr. Harvey, the experience of Mr. Schneberger would prove valuable for strengthening the company’s brand, increasing its global footprint, and improving educational practices of the company among the client and investor base globally."
"Speaking about his new job, Daniel Noonan stated that the hire of Mr. Schneberger is a key milestone in the firm’s long-term plan of growing internationally. The experience of Mr. Schneberger will help strengthen the company’s position in real assets and alternative income, enhance marketing, and integrate teams."
Growing Demand for Real Assets
Cohen & Steers is an investment company which was founded in 1986. The firm invests in real assets and alternative income strategies, such as listed and unlisted real estate, preferred securities, infrastructure, resource equities, commodities, and multi-strategy solutions. The headquarters of Cohen & Steers are based in New York City, while other offices can be found in London, Dublin, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore.
The current decision is also consistent with the overall industry trend. As a result of the increased level of competition and the necessity to pursue alternative investments, the importance of marketing and online activities has been growing among asset management companies. It has become crucial to have professional marketers, who could help investment companies develop their brands and interact with customers via the Internet.
