NCQA performs an extensive analysis of the health plan every three years. This assessment examines a number of factors regarding their performance, such as clinical performance, experience of members, quality improvement initiatives, and effectiveness.
For Blue Shield of California, the latest accreditation involves a range of products offered by the firm. Some of them include Commercial Health Maintenance Organization and Point of Service plans, Exclusive Provider Organization plans, and Preferred Provider Organization plans.
Furthermore, Federal Employee Program and Administrative Services Only plans, Covered California HMO and PPO plans, as well as Medicare HMO and PPO plans, are accredited.
