Stryker, a medical tech leader, was thrown around the globe by a cyberattack

Global Network Disruption Reported
Stryker which operates as one of the top medical technology companies worldwide has suffered a major cyberattack that has disabled its entire global computer systems. The Michigan-based company confirmed that its networks experienced significant disruption after the attack affected its Microsoft-based systems. The company said its teams are working quickly to understand the full impact and restore affected services.
Stryker produces a wide range of healthcare products which include artificial joints and hospital beds and surgical equipment that hospitals use throughout the world. The company reported revenue exceeding $25 billion in 2025 and employs about 56000 people worldwide.
Employees Told to Disconnect Devices
The internal alerts which were distributed to employees reported that the cyber incident created worldwide system outages that affected all corporate networks. The company issued a warning to its employees which prohibited them from connecting their laptops and other devices to the company network until further instructions arrived.
The reports showed that multiple employees experienced complete loss of access to internal systems and email and communication platforms. The company issued text messages to its employees which notified them that the disruption affected all their laptops and devices which were connected to the network. The company requested its employees to refrain from using Microsoft Outlook and Teams until the investigation of the problem reached its conclusion.
Suspected Involvement of Iran-Linked Hackers
Cybersecurity experts believe the attack may be connected to a hacking group called Handala hacker group, which is believed to have links to Iranian cyber networks. The attackers used their group logo as their identification method which appeared on internal login pages during the attack.
The investigators believe that attackers used wiper malware which functions as a destructive cyber tool that wipes out data while rendering computer systems unusable instead of asking for ransom payments. The purpose of such attacks is to create disruptions which will result in financial losses for their target.
Impact on Global Operations
The cyberattack blocked company system access for multiple regions which included the United States and Europe and Asia. Some reports suggested that thousands of workers were unable to access corporate networks during the incident.
Stryker declared it possesses no proof that ransomware or malware requiring payment was part of the current situation. The company stated that it has contained the situation while its teams work to return operations to their standard state.
Growing Concerns Over Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity analysts state that the incident demonstrates escalating cyberattack threats which target major international businesses. The healthcare equipment supply chain disruptions will create operational challenges for hospitals and medical facilities which depend on these essential products.
The security experts continue their investigation into the attack because they need to find out how hackers accessed the system and how extensive the damage has become.
