Drake Takes a Music Hiatus to Prioritize Health
Entertainment & Media
On his radio show "Table For One" on SiriusXM, Drake made an announcement that he intends to step away from making music for an extended period, possibly a year or more, in order to prioritize his health. Specifically, he mentioned recurring stomach issues that have been affecting him for years.
"I probably won't make music for a little bit, I'm gonna be honest," said the Canadian artist. "I need to focus on my health, first and foremost — and I'll talk about that soon enough. Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I've been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach."
This announcement coincided with the release of Drake's latest album, "For All The Dogs." He had scheduled performances in his hometown of Toronto on Friday and Saturday, but it was noted on his tour website and Ticketmaster that several U.S. performances scheduled after Saturday have been postponed.
In addition to his health, Drake mentioned that he has commitments to fulfill for other people, though he didn't provide specific details. He expressed his determination to prioritize his well-being, stating, "So, I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right. And I'm going to do that. I'm going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit. I don't even know what a little bit is. Maybe a year or something. Maybe a little longer."
He also shared a clip from his radio show on Instagram, captioning it with "See ya when I see ya."
