How It Works

To start, users take a new photo or pick one from their phone’s camera roll. Splat then asks what style the user wants, offering options such as anime, manga, cartoon, and comic styles. The app uses AI to transform the photo into a sketch-like page that kids can color.

The experience puts customization front and center, guiding first-time users through choices for icon style and favored coloring themes. Parents decide whether kids will color on screen or print the page at home.

Splat does not require a lengthy sign-up process. After trying a free example, users choose between subscription options: $4.99 per week for up to 25 pages or $49.99 per year for 500 pages. The app blocks children from accessing purchase screens without entering the parent’s birth year.
