Former Verizon Executive Joins Google-Backed Glance—A Bold Move That Could Transform AI-Powered Telecom Growth

Glance Strengthens Leadership to Accelerate Telecom Growth
Google-backed Glance has hired Ashim Sen who was once associated with Verizon and now appointed as Vice President of Americas Growth & Revenue for Glance's Telecom Operator Business. This strategy by the company is intended to increase its presence in North America and Latin America while establishing itself through collaboration with mobile operators, device makers, and connected TV services.
Glance, which is a technology company based on InMobi, is well known for its AI-driven solutions which enable users to find items they need before they start their search. Since AI is growing to be one of the most significant aspects of e-commerce, Glance is now seeking skilled leaders.
Ashim Sen Brings Extensive Verizon Experience
Sen comes on board Glance having spent over ten years with Verizon, during which he spearheaded the device monetization business of the company. In the course of working at Verizon, he handled consumer experience on-device as well as collaborating with strategic partners in areas of app distribution, advertising technologies, value-added services, and app commerce.
His role at Glance will see him handle the telecom business of the firm across North and Latin America. He will be tasked with ensuring that partnerships with big mobile operators are improved upon, with an aim of bringing the artificial intelligence-based services of Glance to millions of smartphones and smart TV users in the region.
Company Sees Telecom Operators as Key to AI Adoption
As per Glance COO Mansi Jain, telecom companies have become one of the key channels through which consumers will discover experiences enabled by AI technology. While expanding its footprint in the Americas region, Glance is looking for individuals who can understand the telecom business as well as marketing new technologies.
Jain added that Sen’s expertise in forging strategic relationships with various partners at Verizon made him a strong fit for Glance to further develop its relationship with mobile companies along with launching its AI-enabled shopping platform to the masses.
Expanded Leadership Team to Support Growth
Sen will join the regional leadership of Glance under Rajat Wanchoo, who is the Group Vice President for the Americas and Europe for InMobi. The position that Rajat holds has been recently upgraded, which includes oversight of Glance's future generation agentic AI ventures in association with telecom operators, smartphone vendors, connected TV players, AI commerce platforms, and cloud technology vendors.
With this stronger leadership, Glance will move ahead in its expansion within the Americas and Europe regions, with its two business units of mobile and connected TV. Wanchoo stated that Sen's capability to spot the most viable consumer technologies and scale up those through telecom collaborations will be an important factor in the growth of the firm.
AI-Powered Shopping Expansion Continues
Sen says that what made him interested in Glance was the prospect of being able to influence the development of AI-powered consumer experiences in the future. According to Sen, artificial intelligence is changing the way people find content and shop online, and mobile operators have become more critical than ever before when it comes to providing such consumer experiences.
This new hire at Glance coincides with the expansion efforts that the company has been undertaking lately via strategic alliances with some of the world’s best telecommunications firms, smartphone manufacturers, and connected TV providers. The recently signed agreements with Samsung, DIRECTV, and Motorola are making sure that more and more users are getting access to Glance’s AI-powered commerce platform via their smartphones and TVs.
