Praxis EMR: Leveraging Technology like Never Before
20 Fastest Growing Companies to work in 2021
Praxis EMR has been recognized as one of the Fastest Growing Companies to Work in 2021 by The Executive Headlines
Medicine is an art as much as it is a science, and no two doctors practice the same way. It is from this premise that over 25 years ago Praxis EMR was born. Most EHRs today are based on boiler-plate "templates" that hurt the art of medicine. No amount of tapping, touching, swiping or clicking on templates will help a doctor practice better and easier medicine. Templates do not work. Instead of templates, Praxis EMR has artificial intelligence called Concept Processing that learns from the user. Whatever the specialty of medicine, Praxis learns the practice’s unique way of working and gets faster and smarter as it is used.
Below are the highlights of the interview between “Dr. Richard Low” and “The Executive Headlines”:-
What is the most important key to your success? Share the experience.
Praxis EMR’s key to success is our authentic mission; our goal at Praxis is not only to help physicians practice faster and easier medicine, but to become the most important medical information system in the world. To this end, we've assembled an unparalleled team of physicians, developers, trainers, and technicians, whose dedication and collective experience produce the finest EMR today. We envision a healthcare system where doctors are free to practice medicine their own way, the best way they know how. Physicians must be allowed to harness their own experience, education, and intuition, free from restrictive and often medically dangerous template-based systems.
What are the unique offerings provided by Praxis EMR team?
Most of our clients used to suffer with template systems before they found Praxis. Every day we help physicians save valuable time and improve medical quality and patient outcomes. Praxis should save a physician about two and a half hours each day in wasted time charting. Praxis will help lower stress and increase productivity, thus reducing the risk of burnout. By spending less time charting, practices can spend more time doing what they do best – working with patients.
What does the future hold for Praxis EMR? Can you briefly describe about your plans?
Praxis EMR is planning a new website and even more streamlined systems, stay tuned!
What do you feel are the reasons behind your company's reputation?
Since our team includes both physicians and technicians, we have the technology and the knowledge about what practices need the most. That’s why we have been rated #1 in satisfaction in 2021 by FrontRunners. We have been rated overall best EHR, received technology innovation awards, and have an A+ rating from the better business bureau. We have a good reputation because our product works the way they should.
How was it working through the pandemic? How challenging was it for you?
Praxis EMR had to adapt to the pandemic and has come out stronger than ever. We learned the need for our clients involved with Telehealth and expanded our offerings.
How is Praxis EMR helping users by providing an end-to-end service.
Praxis allows the practice to integrate their billing service with our #1 top rated, award-winning EHR that is billing independent. We give our practices freedom of choice and flexibility, while focusing on what they need most – saving them time.
Is there any specific message or product that you would like to highlight through this article?
Praxis utilizes AI (artificial intelligence) technology in its EMR software called Concept Processing. This means that the EHR software gets faster and smarter the more it is used. The strongest feature of Praxis EMR is our Template Free Charting. There are numerous reasons why template based EMRs are bad for physicians: 1) takes time away from the patient / practice interaction 2) templates increase medical liability because solutions are not custom to the patient. The main benefit of a template would be to have something that makes data entry faster – and Praxis EMR achieves this without a template through our artificial intelligence (AI) tech, Concept Processing.
20 Fastest Growing Companies to Work in 2021,” features the companies who are outshining themselves in the industry. In the coming years, what change can Praxis EMR bring in the industry?
Our mission is to become the most important medical information system in the world. We want to see the templates in EHR abolished.
Entrepreneurial Journey, Praxis EMR, Dr. Richard Low
Dr. Richard Low earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1972, with a dual Individual Major specialized in Molecular Biology and History. Four years later, he attained a Doctor of Medicine at Yale University’s School of Medicine. Shortly after graduation, he entered the field of Emergency Medicine, which was brand new at that time. Dr. Low became a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and thereafter directed the Emergency Departments of Valley West Hospital in Los Gatos, California, Hazel Hawkins Hospital in Hollister, California, and Santa Cruz Community Hospital, in Santa Cruz, California. In that role, he oversaw twenty emergency physicians. In 1986, he started the first Emergency Medicine Locum Tenens (substitute work) in California and worked in dozens of different medical practices with his group of physicians. In this role of substitute physician, he discovered the essence of medical charting because the medical record was usually the only point of contact between the regular physician and temporary substitute doctor. That same year, Dr. Low served as a special advisor in healthcare for Argentina, appointed by President Raul Alfonsin. Three years later, Dr. Low founded Praxis EMR with the goal of reducing the time doctors spent charting patient notes. Over the past 25 years, Praxis has evolved into a full Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR), leading the market in user satisfaction. From the beginning, Dr. Low kept his sole focus on improving work for healthcare providers and their staff. Dr. Low has also given back to the community in numerous ways, like his service as President of the Yale Club of Argentina.
