Android 13 Update will Reportedly Fix Fingerprint Scanner Performance

The Executive Headlines

In a piece of recent news, the upcoming Android 13 will massively improve the fingerprint scanner performance for Google Pixel 6 or 6 Pro users.

Android 13 Update for Pixel 6 or 6 Pro

The latest Android 13 update will enhance the fingerprint scanner performance and thus, it will improve the Pixel 6 fingerprint scanner experience. Both the devices, the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro users will come with an improved fingerprint scanner performance.

According to a Reddit user, ‘just_lurking_through’ said: “I was never one to complain too much about the fingerprint scanner but with this last update, there’s a night and day difference with the speed and reliability. I say this as someone who was never checking for improvements in the fingerprint scanner, I just immediately noticed it”.

In fact, to prove his theory, he even shared a video to show people how fast the phone unlocks now. You can check out that video by clicking here, as it was uploaded to Imgur. That does seem to be a lot faster. He did mention that he still doesn’t recommend people to install this update, though. He notes that Android 13 Beta 2 still has a lot of bugs, so it’s definitely not a daily driver material update.

Fixed Fingerprint Scanner Performance

These fingerprint scanner updates will be a part of the final Android 13 build, hopefully. So, all you have to do is wait for Google to start rolling them out later this year, and that will hopefully fix fingerprint scanner problems once and for all.

The fingerprint scanner performance is one of the biggest annoyances of using the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Google tried to fix that via updates, but it failed every time. It managed to improve things a bit, but the fingerprint scanner is still not as fast as it should be, nor is it as accurate.

The Pixel 6a got announced recently, and Google confirmed it will include a new fingerprint scanner. That only added more fuel to the fire. Well, it seems like the fingerprint scanner inside the Pixel 6 series can be fixed via updates, based on this beta build. Those are great news for Pixel 6 series users.
